These are our nursery term dates for this year please try not to take you child out of nursery outside of theses dates as we may not be able to keep your space and your child will miss out on vital learning.

EYFS Curriculum

At Play2Learn we follow the government statutory document called the EYFS which supports children to develop from 3 months to 5 years. It is the same curriculum followed in school nurseries and reception classes. We use the EYFS to track each individual child’s progress which is then sent to you on EYlog and discussed with you, this is completed when they first start and then after  their spotlight month . We also use this document to do 2 year old checks which we share with parents at a meeting or over the telephone. If we have any concerns about you child’s development your Key Person will talk to you about what we can do to support them. We would also like you to tell us what your child is achieving at home and you can send us pictures and notes on Eylog which will be included in your child’s learning journal. You can also let your Key Person know about anything you would like us to work on with your child and we will do our best to help incorporate this into their learning.

We also use Whatsapps to communicate about information regarding the nursery and take photographs so we need up-to-date phone numbers.

Nursery Uniform

At Play2Learn we encourage all parents to dress their child in uniform as this allows them to take part in messy play activities without ruining their good clothes. It also makes it easier for the children to be able to dress and undress themselves, a vital skill for getting ready for school.

The uniform consists of:

    • White t-shirt
    • Grey or black tracksuit bottoms or trousers with an elasticated waist
    • Green jumper
    • Shoes, trainers or pumps that have a velcro fastening.
